When I was attending Sydenham Public School in my youth, my best friend’s father, George Bell, the son of Dr. George Bell who taught at the short lived veterinary school at Queen’s had the Dr. Bell’s Wonder Medicine Company bottling plant where the current Post Office now stands. I remember going there and having my lunch and watching the ladies working filling the bottles on the production line. The Bell family lived on the Middle Road. George Bell also had a pet shop on Wellington Street between Princess and Queen St. in the late fifties, early sixties.
