Weekly Photo Challenge: Opportunity

To open up the Museum of Health Care’s artefact collection we are participating in WordPress’ Weekly Photo Challenge. Based on WordPress’ randomly chosen themes, we’ll offer a serendipitous peek into our collection. Check in each week for a new curiosity.

Dr. M. W. Locke postcard, circa 1925. Accession #996001493

This picture shows Dr. Locke’s patients lined up along the front of his house, many in “bath” chairs (better known as wheelchairs today).  This famous country doctor was said to be able to cure arthritis by manipulating the patient’s feet.
