Museum Committee Members Wanted!

Volunteers are the heart of our museum!

We are looking for enthusiastic committee members who will help support museum staff and work diligently to support our mission and vision. Our vision is to be recognized as the national resource for Canada’s evolving health and healthcare history. Our mission is to inspire wonder, promote learning and create knowledge that contributes to a better future in health and healthcare.

The Museum is currently seeking volunteers with experience and/or interest in serving on the following committees:

  • Finance
  • Advancement
  • Human Resources & Nominating

Committee Descriptions

Finance Committee

The role of the Finance Committee is to oversee, review, develop recommendations on issues relating to the budget, finances, cash flows, internal controls and financial risk management. Click here for the full Terms of Reference for the Finance Committee

Advancement Committee

The role of the Advancement Committee is to oversee the Museum’s fundraising strategy and programs in order to support its mission. Click here for the full terms of reference for the Advancement Committee.

Human Resources & Nominating

The role of the Human Resources & Nominations Committee is to enable a healthy work environment that will attract and retain the talent needed to contribute to the work and success of the Museum. This includes creating slates with names of individuals who can be named to the Museum of Health Care at Kingston Board of Directors and its subcommittees with the goal of creating capacity to support the work of the Museum and to enable succession planning for the Board of Directors. Committee Member Responsibilities and Duties

  • Regularly attend committee meetings 4 times per year and stay informed on committee matters including review of minutes and reports
  • Support special events and participate in fundraising initiatives by taking leadership roles
  • Advocate for the organization and speak with a united voice
